Free Multistate Bar Prep ("the Site") is operated by the site operator ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Registration information: When you register for a free access code, we collect your first name, last name, and email address. This is used solely to generate and associate your unique access code (BAR-XXXX).

Usage data: We track the number of AI-powered feature calls made using your access code, the type of feature used, and associated costs. We do not record the content of your questions, essays, or AI conversations.

Session data: Study progress (questions answered, flashcard ratings, wrong answer log) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain your access code
To prevent abuse of the free AI features (rate limiting)
To monitor usage costs and ensure the site remains free for all users
To respond to feedback you submit through the site

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Registration data and usage statistics are stored securely using Netlify Blobs, a server-side storage service provided by Netlify, Inc. Data is stored in the United States. Netlify's privacy policy is available at netlify.com/privacy.

4. AI Features

AI-powered features are provided through Anthropic's Claude API. When you use AI features, your prompts are transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing. We do not store your prompts. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

The Site uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to save your study progress and access code on your device. No tracking cookies are used. No advertising networks are present on this site.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your registration data at any time by emailing freemultistatebarprep@gmail.com with your name and email address. We will delete your data within 30 days.

7. Children

This site is intended for law students and bar exam candidates (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
